Beas Kund Trek is one of the most rewarding short Himalayan treks near Manali, taking you from the adventure-filled landscapes of Solang Valley into the high-altitude wilderness of the Pir Panjal range. The trail combines lush meadows, mountain streams, glacial landscapes and spectacular views of some of Himachal Pradesh's most iconic peaks.
The trek begins around Solang Valley and gradually climbs through beautiful alpine terrain towards Bakarthach, a vast high-altitude meadow surrounded by dramatic mountains. As you gain altitude, the landscape transforms from green valleys into rugged Himalayan terrain, making every section of the trail feel increasingly remote and adventurous.
The highlight of the trek is Beas Kund, a small glacial lake believed to be the source of the River Beas. Sitting at approximately 12,772 ft, the lake is surrounded by towering peaks and snow-covered landscapes depending on the season. The journey to Beas Kund offers an excellent introduction to high-altitude trekking without requiring a very long expedition.
